Jennifer Government Hero Journey It's obvious Jennifer Government is going through a hero's journey. She works for the government, so all of her missions count as journey's i think. Her missions are something she grows from, or learns from. And they are all to make her better. I believe that her journey in this book was a success. Her call to action was at the mall when the assassins shot Haley Mcdonald. She tried to catch them, but she ended up getting shot. This could've been the abyss for her because she could've died. Her recovery was a symbol of her transformation because she was able to survive and come out with a strong mindset. Jennifer Government was determined to find John Nike. Many of her challenges and temptations came from her interviews with the people who may help her lead to her goal. She wanted as much evidence as she needed so that she could get her grant to arrest him. She was also almost taken off the case because her boss wanted her to rest. But even with her messed up shoulder, Her and Calvin weren't going to quit. They both seem like they always solve their cases, or find the solution. That's why John Nike is in trouble. Her atonement is finally going to capture John Nike, and her return is her feeling of relief and satisfaction. She is now ready to move on with her next mission.
